side note.
This is just a side note that the ROYAL WEDDING is in a couple hours and I am SO excited! I have been following their story and am completely obsessed with everything related to it. Kate, or Katherine as she will be soon be referred to as, will soon reveal her dress, jewels, flowers, etc. Everything that has been planned in secrecy so that it will be a surprise, especially the dress which she wanted to be a surprise for William - just like any other bride would want.
greek pics.
I no particular order here are some pictures from event mentioned in the previous post over the past couple months.
The following photos are from greek events.

Alpha Gam Week: Scoop Night
IRD
Our chapter has grown so much over the past couple years!!
This was during the dreaded relay!
Some of my beautiful sisters!
Greek Sing: our theme was Revenge of the Alpha Geeks, like revenge of the nerds, but also playing on our past stereotype of being the smart geek sorority. We do have the highest GPA, but we like to have fun too!
Big/Lil Reveal: This is my new lil, isn't she precious?! Di is her co-big as well. We are joining two huge pieces of our family tree.
She loved her basket of Alpha Gam goodies!
busy.
Clearly I have failed at the photo challenge as well as posting every day. My semester has been extremely difficult and I have hardly had time to sleep nevertheless time to write. So I guess it it time to play a little catch up.
End of February:
- Alpha Gam week was the week of the 21st-26th. Have I mentioned that I am in a sorority? If not I am. In the spring of my freshman year of college I joined Alpha Gamma Delta and I have loved every minute of it. There are so stressful times and the occasional bit of drama, but for the most part I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful group of girls. I could talk about AGD all day, but there is still so much to say that I will make this brief. I'll have my love of AGD for another post.
- MY 21ST BIRTHDAY! I turned 21 on the 21st - my golden birthday! This year the 21st happened to fall on a Monday, which I wasn't excited about, but it was a great day. On sunday night at midnight my two roommates convinced me to go out to a local restaurant/bar to get a drink as soon as it was my birthday. I'll admit I was a little reluctant to go since it had been a long day and I had to get up early the next morning, but I was so glad I went because my family and bo's family were there to celebrate with me. Poor doo looked so tired. It was way past his bedtime though he was excited to see me. We all got some drinks and food before everyone needed to head home. After I headed to another local bar to see one of my sorority sisters who has the same birthday as me. We played some darts and drank free dog-bowls that were given to us before I went home to go to bed. I woke up the next morning, went to school, then to get some lunchtime margs. When I got home bo had decorated the house with balloons and streamers. It was so sweet! Also as a present, bo had gotten me a beautiful bike. It is a light blue Trek; we went out to ride it immediately and let me just say that I am really out of shape. The ride was only like 20 minutes long.
-On the 25th we headed to Sewanne to see my brother at college. During lunch they held a Ukrainian day lunch. As usual very thing was delicious. How can it not be when the cafeteria looks like something out of Harry Potter?! It was a nice trip to end the week with. When we got back we attended a surprise party for the captain's birthday! (his birthday is actually the same as mine too, but we went different places on our actual birthday)
March:
- All I have to say is SPRING BREAK 2011! Bo left with his family on the 4th, but I had bought tickets to Flogging Molly for the 5th back in October so I wasn't going to miss it. Everyone was so nice and bought me a ticket to fly down on the 6th to Orlando to meet them. We went ATV riding, stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel and went to Universal/Islands of Adventure. WE WENT TO HARRY POTTER WORLD!!! It was the best week - I got a wand, a quidditch shirt and of course Butter Beer! I went on the HP ride, but immediately regretted it because I get motion sick really easily. I basically had to close my eyes the whole time so I don't really know what happened during the ride. People who stay at the hotel get early access to the park, otherwise we would have had to wait in line forever (literally). Walking to the ride took forever so I can't imagine when people have to wait that whole time. The downside to having early access is that you actually have to get up, so most of our spring break was spent getting up earlier than we usually do. I could go on and on, but I'll write a little more when I post pictures in a later post.
-I got to see Flogging Molly while they were in town and drink some Irish beer during the concert. There was this hilarious guy that didn't want to be in the mosh pit on the floor but wouldn't leave his palce in the middle so he spent most of the time punching people who bumped into him. Too funny!
- March 12th was bo and I's 6 year anniversary together. I literally can not believe we have been together that long. It is crazy to me. We slept in and had a chill morning before meeting my family at Margartitaville downtown for drinks and food before the Preds' game. After the Preds' game bo and I went to Yolos which we had never been before. One of my really good friend works there so we got to see her. My food and drink were really good, though bo didn't care for his.
- During the week of the 14th-18th the art department sponsored a master class with a known artist. There is no other way to put it except the week was a waste of time. We spent hours and hours learning to weave (yeah, like under-over-under-over). I did this kind of art in kindergarten making placemats for holidays. At least we didn't have real class during the week. ;)
-St. Patrick's Day was later that same week and it was awesome!! I love anything Irish! Here's a run down of the day: class, hair appointment, flying saucer before the Preds game to watch Vandy play in the tournament (they lost), back to school to watch BU play in the tournament (we lost), Preds game vs the Bruins (we won!) then out to Sam's with our other roommate and her "boyfriend," Rocket tots and green beer for all!
- AGD tea party with our alum chapter!
- Intramural volleyball with the Alpha Champs!
- 3 sorority extension presentations!
April:
- I had to teach RTS to the entire sorority on the first and second day of the month. I was really nervous about i, but had everything planned out so it really wasn't too bad. We even got out earlier than I anticipated. Friday night was just with our chapter, but Saturday we hosted it with WKU's chapter. IRD on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful day so everyone was itching to go outside through IRD and RTS. Thank goodness they did roll call differently this year. Whew!
-Friday night after RTS, I went straight to the Factory to Best Buddies Casino night gala. I was unable to attend the previous year, but was excited to make it this year. Bo did really well at the tables so I think we should go to Vegas.
-Saturday after RTS I headed straight to the park to meet my fam to take pictures of my sister before she went to prom.
- BU greek week 2011 was held the week of the 4th-10th. This year's theme was The Greek Network, which was kind of a weak theme. I didn't feel like it really translated into the events. It probably sounded like a good idea on paper but when executed it failed. The two highlights of every greek week are the greek olympics and greek sing. At the greek olympics the relay took FOREVER! The events ended about an hour later than they had anticipated. I don't think they tested the relay before making everyone compete in it. The rest of the events were okay, but didn't make much sense either. All anyone really cares about is the tug of war and the egg toss. I have never seen so many grown people get excited about a simple egg toss. On the other had greek sing was awesome as usual. The event also took forever, but at least it is more exciting then the relay was. Though Phi Delta Theta won, we came in 2nd place and I think 3rd or 4th overall in greek week.
- Initiation! I got to help initiate our four spring pledges. It was wonderful plus I got to reveal to my new lil that I was her big! It was a crazy yet worthwhile weekend.
- At this point round 1 of the NHL playoffs had begun. We have shifted so many things around to be able to attend all the home games and/or watch the away games. We were placed against the Anaheim Ducks. I had to miss the first home game due to initiation for sorority. Here's the breakdown of round one:
- We went to the Lady Gaga concert! It was fabulous!
- Easter Sunday was a busy day. In the morning we went to church, made brunch, easter egg hunt #1, then to the Factory for a big Easter gathering with easter egg hunt #2 and more food. Bo and I made rice crispy treat eggs with jelly beans and m&ms inside (I will post a recipe with directions for these because they were super cute and delicious!)
So this is where I am at. As you can see I have been extremely busy so I hope everyone can forgive me for not updating as much as I would like/promised. With the school year coming to a close hopefully I will be able to write more.
I can't find my camera cord but as soon as I do I will be uploading photos.
peace.
